‘ROD ASCLEPIUS’ is a graphic novel for children 7+ exploring themes of disability and self-advocacy. It’s a story is about a disabled snake who finds her pride by speaking up through the support of a walking stick insect.
Using creative wordplay to represent ‘neurodivergent’ speech and interactions drawing on personal experiences of dyslexia, dyspraxia & ADHD, the story links to the Greek God of medicine ‘Asclepius’ and medical staff symbol found on ambulances and paramedic uniforms today.
